The raucous seagulls in the early hours of the morning were a signal of better weather. Looking out the window across the Walmart parking lot towards Home Depot, I could see the morning light, peeping under heavy clouds. The overnight wind now a light breeze.
We packed up and left on our short drive to the North Sydney Ferry Terminal.
After a lengthy loading process, we settled in for a smooth six hour ferry ride in comfortable leather reclining chairs. It was a good time to look at maps, read, watch Netflix, or simply listen to music. Occasionally, we walked around to stretch our legs, took in some fresh air, and took a few selfies on the deck.
We docked in the picturesque Port aux Basques, and watched from the upper deck as the ferry rotated in the tiny harbour in preparation for unloading.
We drove off the ferry, and headed straight up the hill to the tourist information centre.
We let Chloe our for a pee break and stretch her legs after her comfortable journey spent sleeping in the truck.

The 2012 Ford F-150 still has old halogen bulb technology, and looking at various online forums, everyone complains about poor lighting. There are a number of aftermarket upgrades available. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to change them to LED or install LED flood lights before starting our journey.
We pulled into the Walmart parking lot after 9:30pm and boondocked for the night.
