During the start of our adventure, we stopped in to spend time with my oldest son (Justin) in Kamloops, and now my youngest son (Kelvin) in Spruce Grove.
They each have their own personality, their own thoughts and opinions, and their own sense of humour. They have their own interests, their own talents, and their own way of doing things. I celebrate their individuality and uniqueness and I am so honored to be part of their life.
During our stay in Spruce Grove, Kelvin helped me install a sway bar on the travel trailer. Previously, Susan experienced a severe sway while driving down the north side of Larson Hill under full load and a cross wind. Fortunately, the trucks sway and traction control system kicked in and applied the trailer brakes. I have also experienced the start of a sway while being passed by a large transport truck that interrupted cross wind conditions.
While we had the tools out, we relocated left and right side weight distribution brackets, and inserted chassis bolts to hold them in place for better geometry of the tension chains.
We completed a few resupply errands, bought a shower bar to install in the grocery cupboard to hold the top shelf basket in place, and took the truck in for an oil change. Fortunately, the mechanic also checked the air filter…a mouse had built a nest in the air box, which was plugged with moss and other fluffy debris. We left with full synthetic and a clean filter.
While we had a reliable high speed internet connection, we researched routes, campgrounds, and boondocking locations, that will take us through the rest of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, to Kenora in Ontario.
We relaxed in the evenings, enjoying each other’s company, and chatted about flying all four sons down for another Christmas vacation in Mexico when we’re on the Baja Peninsula.
