The overnight temperature dropped down to 3oC with a light frost on the ground that made a crunching sound as Chloe walked back and forth looking for the right spot for her morning pee.

Returning to the trailer, I review our maps and we picked a route for another driving day towards the Bourbon Trail.

We noticed the change in terrain as we headed west, the Blue Mountains eroded to rolling hills covered in deciduous trees.

We experienced an increase in transport truck traffic, some in better shape than others. One of the poorly maintained trucks must have lost a component that was left lying in the road.

When passing a transport truck, it ran over the component, threw it under our vehicle, catching our left rear wheel which threw the component up at our travel trailer.

After hearing the loud bang, we pulled over in a safe spot and checked for damage – we had black greasy scuff marks on the tire and rim, and a dent in lower left front trailer panel.

We continued on our way, and for a change, decided to boondock at Cabella’s. In appreciation for their hospitality, I bought a few fishing supplies.

Later that evening, one other camper pulled into their lot and boondocked for the night. They provided potable water and a pay per use sanidump.
