The clouds we saw on the horizon yesterday, built into a heavy rainstorm overnight. Hearing the rain on the trailer roof this morning was one good reason for a lazy start to our day.

Heavy rain and pooling water

As forecasted, the rain cleared up, giving us an opportunity to run a few errands to a local Walmart, and take Chloe for a few walks around the campground. It was time to catch up on reading and relaxing.

There is another important reason for our stay in Calgary and our slow start to the day. Susan received a phone call scheduling her MRI at Kelowna General. To avoid waiting months and months for the MRI, she let them know she was willing to travel to any hospital at any time.

They scheduled her MRI in Kelowna General at 2:00am.

Susan drove the truck from the campground to Calgary airport for her 11:00pm flight to Kelowna, flies back on the first morning flight to Calgary, arriving at 8:00am. I will have a very strong cup of coffee ready for her return.

Our next leg takes us to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump (yep, that’s what it’s called) while Susan naps in the truck, then continue to boondock at the Walmart in Medicine Hat.
